Community Without Walls

Community Without Walls assists HIV positive men who are incarcerated with a release date within three months, or recently released from county jails or state prisons. Operating since 2003, Community Without Walls assists the men with access to medical care and treatment, housing, financial assistance, bus passes, food, clothing, backpacks and counseling.


Services include:

bullet Provides individual and group substance abuse treatment.

Cinzia Ayite, program coordinator provides confidential HIV and STD testing for individuals who were recently incarcerated. Results in 20 minutes.

Assists recently released HIV-positive men who are having difficulty transitioning back into the community.

Helps individuals prevent transmission of HIV to their partners.

Helps individuals access food, clothing, medical, housing and financial needs.

Offers support and some financial assistance.

Provides life skills groups to reduce the participant's risk of going back to prison. Groups are the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.
