Up in the Mix

This program provides outreach in Aurora to adolescents who are at risk of contracting Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Outreach includes information about abstinence, HIV and STD testing, safer sex and substance use prevention. Workshops are provided in two youth detention centers and focus on helping incarcerated youth learn to assess their risk in relevant situations and make healthy decisions about sex, substances and safety. All outreach workers and workshop facilitators are under the age of 21 and able to relate to the lives of the youth they interact with.
